The partnership between the two institutions will involve engineering students from each university visiting the other to further their education.
As part of the deal, Teikyo will send a cohort of students to Trine in August for a two-week intensive ESL and programming experience with Trine engineering faculty. In the summer of 2020, Trine students will travel to Teikyo for a period of two months to conduct research with graduate students in their specific engineering field. The Trine students will also take classes in Japanese language and culture.
Trine says the students who participate will earn Research Experience for Undergraduates credits and humanities credits.
The MOU was signed this week by Trine President Earl Brooks and Tsutomu Haeno, dean of the School of Science & Engineering at Teikyo’s Utsunomiya campus.
