The new space will house Trine’s surgical technology program as well as future programs planned in the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences.
The facility is currently being renovated to include classrooms, locker rooms, a supply room, a sterile processing department with a large autoclave, a lounge and faculty offices and two operating rooms. The renovation is slated to be completed by August.
"This new facility gives Trine University surgical technology students the opportunity from the beginning of their program to train in surgical suites that incorporate the latest technology," said Jennifer Lloyd, director of the surgical technology program at Trine. "Combined with our comprehensive curriculum and the personal attention that is a hallmark of all Trine programs, graduates will have the training and experience necessary for a successful surgical technology career."
