The city of Bloomington says the Trades District Garage, which will support the city’s newest employment hub and cultural destination, will open on Saturday. The city says the 350-space garage features commercial and retail space and will complement the Trades District’s business activity at The Mill, the Kiln and additional sites under development.
The city says several infrastructure projects are underway to improve safety, sustainability, accessibility, equity, economic vitality, and quality of life.
The garage will be equipped with electric vehicle charging stations and a solar array. The city says the Trades District Garage and the replacement Fourth Street Garage, which is scheduled to open in August, will be the first in Indiana to achieve Parksmart certification, a sustainability credential.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. to celebrate the opening of the garage.
