Princeton-based Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana Inc. is moving 240 workers from staffing agency Aerotek to its full-time production team. The automaker says the move will bring the plant's total employment close to 5,000.

News Release

Princeton, Ind. — Starting this month and continuing through June, Toyota Indiana will transition 240 members to its full-time production team. These newest Toyota team members will move from the variable workforce and will push employment at the plant to nearly 5,000.

Aerotek is the staffing agency that provides Toyota Indiana with its variable workforce.

In August 2014, Toyota Indiana announced a $100 million investment to produce up to 30,000 more units of its popular Highlander midsize SUV and create 300 new jobs by 2016. “This growth is a direct result of customer demand for our vehicles,” said Dan Potje, vice president of administration. “We’re proud that our team will soon approach 5,000 strong.”

Career Fair

With these transitions, Aerotek will need to add additional variable workforce staff at Toyota Indiana. To that end, Aerotek will hold a career fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at the Toyota Indiana Visitors Center, 4000 S. Tulip Tree Drive in Princeton. Suppliers, such as PIC Group, Superior Maintenance Company, Star Industrial Services, Toyota Boshoku Indiana, Voith and Vuteq, will also have representatives at the career fair to recruit potential employees.

Starting pay for the Aerotek positions is $15.85 per hour, with a 70-cent shift premium for second shift positions. Contractor benefits, including health insurance and 401(k), are also available. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED to be eligible for hiring.

Those interested in production careers at Toyota, but unable to attend the career fair, may apply online at www.aerotekin.com.
