Mishawaka-based Franciscan Health will Friday celebrate a key milestone in the construction of its new hospital in Michigan City. The health system will hold a topping off ceremony, placing the final steel beam on the frame of the $233 million facility.
Officials broke ground on the project in May 2016. The hospital will sit on an 86-acre site near Interstate 94 and will include 108 inpatient beds, outpatient services and a medical office building.
The hospital is schedule for completion in 2018. The topping off ceremony is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
