Musician Todd Rundgren has been named an artist-in-residence at the University of Notre Dame’s Department of Film, Television and Theatre. He will teach several classes at the university and work with students and teachers in the community from September 22 to October 1. Additionally, the university says Rundgren will organize an on-campus collection of used musical instruments which will be redistributed to music students in need throughout the country. At the end of his time at Notre Dame, Rundgren will perform with student bands at a concert at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center on October 1. The university says he will also be the subject of a "First Time Fans" documentary when he attends a Notre Dame football game on September 24. Rundgren is no stranger to Hoosier universities. In 2010, he served as an instructor in Indiana University’s Wells Scholars Program. In 2009, Rundgren appeared as one of the speakers at DePauw’s Ubben Lecture Series.
