Tindley Schools CEO Resigns

Subscribe NowThe chancellor and chief executive officer of Tindley Accelerated Schools in Indianapolis has resigned. The organization’s board of directors said Marcus Robinson resigned to focus full-time on finishing his doctorate at Columbia University.
The board says Robinson will remain under contract until June 30 and will be available for assistance as needed, in order to ensure a smooth transition. The board will immediately begin a national search for Robinson’s successor.
"We are thankful for Marcus Robinson’s contributions," said board chair Jan Guffin. "In large measure due to his vision and belief in what is possible when educating urban children, our schools are consistently highly rated, reflecting our great academic success."
Robison served as Tindley’s leader for 12 years, during which the organization grew from one school to a network of six schools. The Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School won the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award in 2010.
"I’m grateful to have served beside such a talented and dedicated staff," said Robinson. "Tindley has a great future, and I’m confident it will continue to provide a high quality education to our 1,600-plus students and their families."
Tindley Collegiate Academy Principal Kelli Marshall will serve as interim CEO until a permanent successor is named.
