The global third-party logistics provider says the addition of more than 170,000 square-feet will boost its biologic storage capacity.
MD Logistics says the expansion is necessary to keep pace with the "thriving" pharmaceutical industry in the state. Indiana Secretary of Commerce Victor Smith says "Indiana is experiencing tremendous growth in emerging areas like information technology and life sciences, which now contributes $59 million to our state’s economy each year and supports related industries."
Co-Founder and President Mark Sell says "We’re constantly identifying how to enhance the customer experience. By adding this facility, we’re able to accommodate needs for additional secure pharmaceutical storage."
Less than two years ago, the company completed a smaller-scale expansion of its Plainfield offices during a previous 12-month period that saw the additional of more than 20 jobs.
MD Logistics has a national presence with an additional location in Nevada. The company says the expansion in Hendricks County will help it "better serve life sciences and pharmaceutical companies throughout the Midwest."
In total, the company says it fills more than 4.5 million orders per year.
