Three Nonprofits Surprised With $100K Grants

Three nonprofit organizations were surprised this week with $100,000 capital grants. The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne presented the grants to Community Transportation Network, Embassy Theatre Foundation and Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities.
The Community Foundation says each of the capital projects are transformational in scope with will benefit a large segment of the community. Each project was chosen based on criteria determined by the Community Foundation’s grant review committee.
"Throughout the years the Community Foundation has had a tradition of providing special year-end strategic grants for a variety of projects ranging from supporting basic needs to providing funding for collaborative projects that enhance quality of life," said David Bennett, executive director of Community Foundaiton. "To continue the tradition, this year’s special funding is in the form of capital grants."
The grants are proactive and are being made in addition to the Community Foundation’s regular quarterly grants cycle.
