Thor Makes Global Joint Venture Official

Thor relocated its headquarters to Elkhart County in 2013.

Elkhart-based Thor Industries Inc. (NYSE: THO) has closed on its 50/50 joint venture with New Zealand-based Tourism Holdings Ltd. Known as TH2, the venture is focused on digitally connecting recreational vehicle enthusiasts with every aspect of RV ownership.

The joint venture was first announced last month. Officials say the TH2 platform will give users the ability to plan and book trips as well as the capability for remote systems monitoring, roadside assistance, and peer-to-peer RV and campsite rental. RV manufacturers, dealers and rental operators would also see increased efficiencies in product pricing, service engagement and fleet management by using the platform, according to Thor.

TH2 will be headquartered in Cincinnati and led by Bob Wheeler, chief executive officer of Thor subsidiary Airstream.
