The theatre troupe has established the Bryan Fonseca Legacy Fund campaign to raise $500,000 to complete a community center adjacent to the Fonseca Theatre.
The organization says the space will be available for community meetings and will offer a range of community and educational programs, including youth drama classes, a bilingual storytelling series, and cultural conversations.
“The renovation of the community center is an integral part of the vision that Bryan had when he acquired the building next to his theatre. This will go a long way toward making his dream come true,” said Fonseca Theatre Board President Patricia Castañeda
Friends of Fonseca will hold a virtual memorial service Saturday to celebrate his life. The group says Fonseco would have turned 68 years old this weekend.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Fonseca Theatre Community and Education Fund.
Fonseca Theatre Co. is a 501c3 not-for-profit. The fund helps to provide affordable youth drama classes and other events.
