The Villages of Indiana President and CEO Sharon Pierce has received the 2016 Achievement Award in the non-profit category from the Pass the Torch Foundation. She has served as The Villages of Indiana president and CEO since 1992. Pierce is a member of numerous boards and service organizations promoting the best interests of children. Among her many affiliations, she serves on the National Board of Directors for the Child Welfare League of America and serves as a national child welfare trainer and consultant for the organization. Pierce serves on the national board of directors of Prevent Child Abuse America, the board for Child Care Coordination, the Commission on Abused and Neglected Children, and currently chairs the Healthy Families Indiana Think Tank. The Pass the Torch for Women Foundation is a non-profit organization that exists as a community of empowered women developing one another professionally through mentoring relationships.
