In August, The Mind Trust awarded local nonprofits funds to create centers to help students with online learning.
As the pandemic forced schools to close, students within the Indianapolis Public School system found themselves at home but attending classes virtually. Many do not have reliable internet service.
Additionally, many working families with younger children are facing a childcare crisis.
There are currently fifteen Community Learning Sites in Indianapolis. The nonprofit says it recognized the need for more locations and extended service.
