The opening of the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience has spurred accolades for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Four national media outlets have praised the museum as a must-see attraction in 2019.
Lonely Planet listed the museum’s sports legends experience as one of the best new attractions for kids from around the world and stated “This immersive experience encompasses health education, physical fitness and sports history for an active day out.”
MSN.com devised a list of top attractions for each state and The Children’s Museum was tabbed as Indiana’s top attraction, with the website touting the museum, "Families can learn about the children who changed the world, from Anne Frank to Ruby Bridges, explore massive dinosaur fossils and be mesmerized by the 43-foot blown-glass sculpture by American artist Dale Chihuly.”
Reader’s Digest also shared a list of state’s must-see attractions and picked The Children’s Museum as ‘best family museum in the country’. And USAToday/10Best chose the museum and the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience as one of the best new attractions to visit this year. Nominations were accepted by an expert panel, with the public voting to place the sports legends experience no. 4 in the country.
“I am grateful to our 1.25 million visitors each year who believe in our mission and choose to spend quality time with their families here. At the same time, I am incredibly proud of our staff and volunteers who are committed to creating extraordinary experiences that educate and entertain. No detail is too small and no goal is too big for our team,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum.
