Texas Company Proposes ‘Boutique’ ER in Fishers

Texas-based Nutex Health Inc. is looking to build a $10 million free-standing emergency room in Fishers. In a filing with the city, Chief Executive Officer Tom Vo says the facilities provide the full scope of services found in a traditional ER, but without the usual "anxiety."

The proposal calls for an 18,000 square-foot facility on 116th Street that will also include on-site testing, scanning, radiography and laboratory services. "By focusing only on a few service lines (ER, Medical Inpatient, Outpatient labs, and Outpatient Imaging), our facility can deliver fast, safe, and expedient care to the community that it serves," Vo said in a filing with the city. "Patients will enjoy the ambiance of a high-end facility, followed with evaluation by an experienced Emergency Physician within minutes of entry to our hospital. All testing is done quickly, without the delays typical of traditional, hospital-based emergency departments."

The company is seeking an amendment to current regulations in the area that keep businesses closed from Midnight to 6 a.m. The Fishers City Council voted Monday to move the measure on to the city’s plan commission.
