A Terre Haute company that last year announced plans to close is working to offload its products. Our partners at WTHI-TV report Illinois-based Columbian Home Products LLC opened to the public over the weekend for a sale of its kitchenware.
In October, the nearly 120-year-old company sent a notice to the state, detailing plans to close its Vigo County facility and lay off some 82 employees. The company’s owner told the station operations will be completely shut down in March.
The business has operated in Terre Haute since 1902, when it was originally known as the Bellaire Stamping Co. Company officials tell WTHI the business was no longer making money, which led to the decision to close.
