Elkhart-based ITR Concession Co. LLC, the operator of the Indiana Toll Road, has announced upcoming overnight closures for three of its toll plazas in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties.

The closures, which will take place in phases through the end of September, are being implemented for toll lane safety improvements.

ITR Concession Co. says the closures are taking place overnight to minimize disruption and reduce daytime traffic impacts. During the closures, access to the plazas will be restricted.

The closures will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the following days:

• Mishawaka (Exit 83) on Monday, July 21, through Saturday, Aug. 2
• South Bend West (Exit 72) on Monday, Aug. 4, through Saturday, Aug. 23
• Elkhart East (Exit 96) on Tuesday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 29

The toll road operator says signage will be put in place to notify drivers of the closures in advance.
