An event in Indianapolis Wednesday will spotlight the role of software in Indiana’s economic growth. The RealClearPolitics event will feature speakers including Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and TechPoint Chief Executive Officer Mike Langellier.

The panel, called "From Math Class to Manufacturing," will focus on how technology including iPhone apps and data storage programs are making businesses more efficient and creating jobs. The organization estimates those technologies are contributing an estimated $1.07 trillion to the United States Gross Domestic Product.

In addition to Holcomb and Langellier, the panel will feature Niki Christoff with Salesforce Inc. (NYSE: CRM), Ivy Tech Community College President Sue Ellspermann and Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Vice President Mark Fisher. The event is set for 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Columbia Club Indianapolis.
