Double-Take Software, which has an office in Indianapolis, has been acquired by Boston-based Carbonite Inc. (Nasdaq: CARB). The deal is valued at $65.25 million. Carbonite says it will maintain Double-Take’s presence in Indianapolis, which currently includes more than 60 employees.
The acquisition involves Double-Take products including: Double-Take High Availability, Double-Take Disaster Recovery, Double-Take Move, Double-Take Cloud Migration and Double-Take SQL Migration. The company has been around for more than 20 years.
Carbonite Chief Executive Officer Mohamad Ali says "our current solutions support scenarios ranging from simple file restore to failover, and with the addition of Double-Take HA, we can now extend those scenarios to active recovery in near real-time, significantly minimizing any downtime and the associated loss of productivity and revenue."
