Tech Company Details Fishers Growth Plans

Fishers-based Flexware Innovation Inc. has announced plans to expand its Hamilton County operations. The tech company says it will invest nearly $8 million to renovate and equip its current facility and create approximately 70 jobs by 2021.

Flexware will begin renovations in early 2018 and says it also plans to consider building a new facility in the future. Some of the improvements to the existing 10,000-square-foot facility include an open floor plan, focus rooms, and IoT lab space.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the company is currently hiring for business intelligence and software developers, as well as automation and computer integrated manufacturing engineers. The new jobs are expected to come with average salaries 75 percent higher than the average wage in Hamilton County.

"Indiana has done such a wonderful job of making our state a place that manufacturing companies can flourish," said Scott Whitlock, chief executive officer of Flexware Innovation. "Couple that with Fishers’ investments in technology firms like Flexware, and we are in a perfect location to continue to attract talent and live out our passion for helping manufacturing companies. We can’t thank the state and city enough for investing in us in this way."

Flexware provides software development, business intelligence, and automation engineering services to clients in a variety of industries, including life sciences, pharmaceuticals and industrial manufacturing.

The IEDC is offering Flexware up to $1 million in conditional tax credits and more than $112,000 in training grants. The project also has the support of the city of Fishers. The project comes less than a month after Flexware announced its acquisition of Valparaiso-based IPACT Inc.

Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness will be a guest on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick this weekend to talk about the project and other investments currently ongoing in the Hamilton County city.

Did the Federal Reserve stick the (soft) landing?

Did the Federal Reserve stick the (soft) landing?

When Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell began increasing interest rates in early 2022, few economists predicted a resilient economic response. It wasn't a matter of "if" we would be pushed into a recession but how bad the recession would be. Nearly two years into the steepest increase in interest rates in over 40 years, can we now say we've achieved a soft landing? Or is this a delayed economic response with a 2024 recession certain to come?...
