Hancock County manufacturer Tech Castings LLC is celebrating the grand opening of its expanded facility on Monday. The company, which makes superalloy investment castings for the aerospace, manufacturing, and medical industries, has invested nearly $5 million to grow its presence in the town of Shirley.

Plans for the expansion were first announced in December 2021. The company added 12,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space to its existing 30,000-square-foot facility.

Tech Castings said the addition would double the output of components for the aerospace industry and add 20 jobs.

The company will hold a grand opening ceremony Monday afternoon. Senator Todd Young, R-IN, will attend and provide remarks at the event.

Tech Castings was founded in 2011 and has seen revenue growth every year since its inception, according to the company’s website. The manufacturer counts GE Aerospace, Rolls-Royce and Honeywell Aerospace among its original equipment manufacturer clients.
