Teach For America-Indianapolis has selected Amar Patel as executive director. He previously served as managing director of development for the organization’s Chicago-Northwest Indiana region. In his new role, Patel will oversee regional operations, work on building community partnerships and cultivating private and public support. He joined Teach For America in 2007 while teaching high school chemistry, biology and coaching baseball at Wells Community Academy in Chicago. During his tenure in the Chicago-Northwest Indiana region, Patel helped raise more than $65 million for the organization.
