Subscribe NowTaylor University has named Indianapolis-area executive, lawyer, and college fundraising professional Rex Bennett vice president for university advancement. He has served as vice president for development-finance at FSJ Inc. and as an equity member at the Indianapolis law firm of Frost Brown Todd LLC for 16 years. Bennett also previously practiced law at Indianapolis-based Benesch Dann Pecar and as an associate vice president and vice president for college advancement at Greenville College in Illinois from 1989 – 1996.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Greenville College, Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Southern Illinois University and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University College of Law in Dallas, Texas.
A number of seminars have featured Bennett, who has spoken and presented on subjects including student loan indebtedness, commercial lending and risk, and real estate financing.
Bennett has also served on several trustees, governors and directors boards including those of Greenville College, Overseas Council for Theological Education Inc., Heartland Film Festival and Heartland Truly Moving Pictures, and Haven Sanctuary for Women. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, and Indianapolis Bar Association.
Bennett will begin September 1.
