Supreme Court Nominees Selected

The Judicial Nominating Commission has selected three nominees for the Indiana Supreme Court. The person ultimately selected by Governor Eric Holcomb will succeed Justice Robert Rucker, who is retiring next month after 26 years on the bench.
The nominees include Clark Circuit Court Judge Vicky Carmichael, Wabash Superior Court Judge Christopher Goff and Boone Superior Court Judge Matthew Kincaid. The nominees were chosen from a pool of 11 finalists named last month.
The Judicial Nominating Commission says it will submit a report to the governor in the coming days. Once he receives the report, Holcomb will have 60 days to appoint one of the nominees to the high court.
Rucker’s retirement was officially announced in January following the Chief Justice Loretta Rush’s State of the Judiciary.
