Sun King Spirits Opens in Carmel

Indianapolis-based Sun King Brewing Co.’s latest venture has officially launched. The brewery has opened the doors of Sun King Spirits, a 15,000-square-foot craft distillery and taproom in Carmel.
Sun King first announced plans for the $4 million distillery last August. The facility, which overlooks the Monon Greenway in Carmel, celebrated its grand opening with four limited-release spirits that were produced in conjunction with other area distilleries, including Hotel Tango and 8th Day Distillery in Indianapolis, Cardinal Spirits in Bloomington, and Copper & Kings in Louisville.
The distillery also features many of Sun King’s craft beers, as well as food from three local restaurants in the facility’s food hall.
The project is the latest growth effort for Sun King, which in January announced plans to invest $2.5 million into a new specialty production craft brewery and tap room at The Yard in Fishers District, which broke ground last month. The brewery also last month announced a deal to distribute its craft beer products in Florida.
