Key players in the state's life sciences sector are gathering this week in Indianapolis. The annual Life Sciences Summit will focus on political implications for the industry, including the impact of the medical device tax. It will also feature a discussion about progress on the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, which was announced earlier this year. BioCrossroads Vice President of Communications Lori Leroy discussed the summit during an appearance on this weekend's Inside INdiana Business Television. Efforts in Washington, D.C. to repeal the tax have been unsuccessful.

The event begins this evening with the announcement of this year's BioCrossroads New Venture Competition.
