The New Jersey-based sister company that markets and distributes cars built by Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. in Lafayette says the first half of the year was a record-breaker. Subaru of America Inc. is reporting that sales in June were higher than the same month in 2017, continuing a 79-month streak. The first-ever Ascent, which rolled off a Tippecanoe County assembly line in May, was recently sold.
Subaru of America Inc. says 59,841 vehicles sold in June 2018, a 15 percent jump from June 2017. President Thomas Doll said "with the addition of the all-new 3-row SUV Ascent to our line-up, our franchise is poised for our 10th consecutive year of sales records."
Subaru Legacy, Outback, Impreza and Ascent models are all built at SIA in Lafayette, which employs more than 5,600 associates. You can connect to more about the record June performance by clicking here.
