Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. in Lafayette says it is extending its temporary suspension of production through April 6. The automaker says the move is the result of Governor Eric Holcomb’s stay at home order to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

SIA first announced its plans last week to halt production, which was originally slated to resume March 30. The company says all associates will continue to receive full pay during the shutdown.

“SIA continues to monitor the rapidly evolving situation and will provide updates when additional information is available,” the automaker said in a news release.

Several major vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. have halted production due to the coronavirus pandemic, including Toyota, Honda, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, each of which has facilities in Indiana.

Around the same time SIA announced its initial suspension of production, Toyota said it would extend its shutdown, with plans to resume production on April 6 at its facilities, including the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana plant in Princeton.

The statement, consisting of only three words, described EXACTLY what Cisco did as a company. And the rest is history....
