An Indiana Congressman is seeking a leadership position in Washington following this week's primary defeat of House Majority leader Eric Cantor. Marlin Stutzman (IN-3) tells Howey Politics Indiana he is running for House Republican Whip. He describes himself as a “long shot” for the position. The race for whip will emerge if California Congressman Kevin McCarthy is successful in his bid to replace Cantor as majority leader.

Stutzman is supporting McCarthy, who could be up against at least four others for the post.

The 3rd Congressional district extends into 12 northeast Indiana counties.
