Columbus-based Strand Associates Inc. has promoted Bill Hawkins to vice president. He joined the firm in 1992 and has held multiple management positions including his current role as director of operations. He has experience in design, quality control, and construction of transportation projects for INDOT and local agencies.

Hawkins has been serving the transportation needs of the city and surrounding communities for almost 30 years. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, and he is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana. Hawkins is an active member of the Society of Professional Engineers and the American Council of Engineering Companies. In addition to his many career accomplishments, he served as project manager for State Road 62 and State Road 421 projects, both of which received an Indiana Partnership for Highway Quality Achievement Award.
