An event Friday in northeast Indiana will focus on locally-manufactured products. The Made in Steuben Manufacturing Expo will also feature sessions on career and technical training opportunities. October 3, 2014

ANGOLA, Ind. (October 2, 2014) – The Steuben County Industrial Guild and Steuben County Economic Development Corporation will be hosting the first annual, MADE IN STEUBEN MANUFACTURING EXPO on October 10th at the Potawatomi Inn, Pokagon State Park. The event runs from 9:00 am through 6:00 pm, with a Food & Beverage Reception from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Learn about the products manufactured in Steuben County and the companies that manufacturer them.

As part of National Manufacturing Day (October 3rd), this event is designed to inform people about the career opportunities that exist in today's manufacturing companies, and what training and skills support a growing career. Confirmed exhibitors include:

Representatives from Ivy Tech Community College, Freedom Academy and WorkOne Northeast will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice for people interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing. Cathy Maxwell, Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs for Ivy Tech will speak about career opportunities in manufacturing.

Join the reception from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm to sample locally made beers from Chapman's Brewing Company, and wines from Satek Winery. Sample Miller Poultry's chicken sausage and other light refreshments during the reception.

Admission is free. Mention “Made in Steuben” at the Pokagon State Park gate for free admission into the park. Students and families are encourage to attend to learn more about the exciting and high tech activities underway, right here in Steuben County!

About the Steuben County Industrial Guild:

The Steuben County Industrial Guild has been in existence for more than 25‐years and as of December 2013, officially incorporated as a 501(c)(6) organization. The primary function of the Guild is to provide awareness to the Steuben Industrial community in compliance and regulatory issues. Workshops and seminars hosted by the Guild include topics such as OSHA compliance, Human Resources Laws, record keeping, Red Cross Safety, ADA/FMLA Regulations and Global Marketing just to name a few. The Guild has also participated in fundraising for worthy causes.
