(Nasdaq: STLD) has made a major contribution to Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana. The Steel Dynamics Foundation Inc. has committed $750,000 to the organization’s capital campaign to relocate and expand JANI’s headquarters in Fort Wayne.
The donation is part of JANI’s $12 million Casting the Vision campaign, but will be focused toward the development of the new Steel Dynamics Entrepreneurial Center. The organization says the center "will provide resources, inspiration and learning opportunities, spurring the creative juices of area youth."
"We are most grateful to the Steel Dynamics Foundation for its support of Casting the Vision," said Jim Johnston, board chair of the JA Foundation. "Steel Dynamics shares our common vision that a better-educated workforce creates a stronger economy for Fort Wayne and all of northeast Indiana. This pledge will certainly help us make our vision a reality."
JANI has nearly a quarter of the $12 million goal to date. The funding will not only support an expanded headquarters and the entrepreneurial center, but also new space for the organization’s JA BizTown and JA Finance Park efforts.
In April, JANI received a $1 million donation from the Fort Wayne-based Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation. You can learn more about the capital campaign by clicking here.
