A bronze statue of former four-term Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut has been unveiled in the city's downtown. Among his accomplishments, Hudnut is credited with helping to spark a downtown revitalization. He helped attract the Colts to Indianapolis by leading efforts to build the Hoosier Dome before even securing an NFL franchise.
During his tenure, construction also began on the downtown canal.
He also served as a U.S. Representative and led the city from 1978-1992.
