Statewide Building Permits Slide

The Indiana Builders Association says single-family building permits dipped in July. The organization says totals decreased 8 percent, compared to July 2014.
Single-family building permits are also down 14 percent month-over-month. The IBA says totals have remained steady overall through the first seven months of the year, compared to last year.
Vice President Jim Pressel takes a longer view. "Although building permit numbers were lower than the previous month, they are significantly higher than the same time four years ago." He adds the recent rainy weeks have had an affect on housing starts.
The IBA has 27 local affiliates organized into nine regions throughout the state.
