State Unemployment Rate Continues to Fall

Indiana’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.0% in February, down from an adjusted 4.2% in January. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state had a net decrease of 6,600 private-sector jobs, mostly in trade, transportation, and utilities, as well as manufacturing.
The state’s total labor force, which includes Hoosiers who are either employed or seeking employment, stands at 3.34 million for February.
Indiana’s unemployment rate is the lowest among the bordering states. Wisconsin is the only state in the Midwest with lower unemployment at 3.8%.
