State Senator Eddie Melton (D-Merrillville) has been appointed to the Indiana Democratic Party State Central Committee. Senator Melton will serve as a deputy chair, filling a vacancy on the committee. As deputy chair, Melton will work with local-level and grassroots organizations to recruit new volunteers and candidates and help Hoosier Democrats broadcast our message of fighting for fairness, working families and the future.

The Indiana Democratic Party State Central Committee is made up of 44 elected and appointed members who guide Indiana Democratic Party decision-making. State Senator Melton was elected to the Indiana General Assembly in 2016 and is the Ranking Minority Member on the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development.
