State Revenue Misses Projections

Despite missing projections from December, last month’s total of more than $1.4 billion is nearly 8 percent higher than the same month last year.
The General Fund revenue totals missed estimates by $24.8 million or 1.7 percent. Year-to-date, collections stand at nearly $3.6 billion, which is about $58 million below the December forecast, but $136 million higher than September of last year.
Individual income tax, riverboat wagering and racino wagering collections were all above expectations, however sales tax and corporate tax collections all missed projections.
Collections from racino wagering were more than 20 percent higher than forecast and more than 12 percent higher than the same month last year.
