State of The State Address: Heavy on Workforce, Education

Governor Eric Holcomb’s second State of the State address Tuesday placed heavy emphasis on workforce and educational initiatives. He has established several goals, including launching a work-based learning and apprenticeship office focused on doubling the current number of opportunities to 25,000 over two years. Holcomb also set targets for helping 25,000 Hoosiers with some college finish their degree and 30,000 without a high school diploma gain needed education and job skills.
House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-88) said Holcomb’s presentation and goals "set just the right tone" and Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-16) discussed Holcomb’s approach to major topics affecting Hoosiers.
