State Moratorium on Utility Disconnection Ends

The statewide moratorium on the disconnection of utilities for customers enrolled in the Indiana Home Energy Assistance Plan ends today. Utility companies throughout the state will resume disconnecting services tomorrow for customers who haven’t made utility payments.
The EAP provides assistance for low-income households to keep utility services during the winter months. While the moratorium is ending, many utility companies continue to offer financial assistance to low-income customers.
Customers of Citizens Energy Group, Vectren Corp. (NYSE: VVC) and NIPSCO are encouraged to contact their respective utilities for information on financial assistance. Each utility says they have a number of options to help low-income customers.
