The Indiana Bicentennial Commission is also providing the white flags that feature the commemorative logo to all cities and towns throughout the state.
The commission is asking communities to simultaneously raise their flags at noon eastern time on December 11, which is Statehood Day in Indiana.
Executive Director Perry Hammock says "Hoosiers across the state should fly the commemorative flag as a display of pride throughout this milestone year in Indiana’s history."
The program to provide flags to cities and towns is sponsored by P.E. MacAllister, MacAllister Machinery and the Association of Indiana Counties.
The first recognized event to kick off the bicentennial celebration will be the annual midnight Watermelon Drop December 31 in downtown Vincennes.
The Indiana Bicentennial Commission is chaired by former Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman and former U.S. Congressman Lee Hamilton and comprised of 15 commission members.
