State Graduation Rate Ticks Higher

Indianapolis, Ind. — Indiana's graduation rate for 2013-14 jumped to 89.8%, up from 88.6% the year before according to data released by the Indiana Department of Education today. Indiana's non-waiver graduation rate also saw an increase. Importantly, the non-waiver graduation rate was 83.4%, up from 81.7% in the previous year.
In response to this news, Glenda Ritz, Indiana's Superintendent of Public Instruction issued the following statement:
“I want to thank Indiana's students, educators and families for their continued hard work. Because of their efforts and the outreach efforts of the Department of Education, more children are graduating from high school and preparing themselves for college and career. Today’s news is yet another sign of the great work happening every day in schools throughout Indiana.”
