The group, which includes more than 40 business leaders, economic development and local elected officials, will spend seven days meeting with government and business officials throughout the country.
The delegation will spend the weekend celebrating Indiana’s sister-state relationship with Tochigi Prefecture, which was established in 1999. The governor will also attend opening events for the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association Conference. Holcomb is one of five U.S. governors attending the event. He will also meet with the chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization.
Throughout the trip, Holcomb and his team will meet with representatives from Japanese companies with a presence in Indiana, including Subaru Corp., Honda Motor Co., and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp., among others.
"As Indiana’s largest foreign investor, Japan and its business sector contribute greatly to our state and to Hoosiers," said Holcomb. "I’ve been honored to meet with a number of Japanese officials and business executives here in Indiana this year, and I look forward to building and strengthening our partnerships in Japan."
