State Announces Family Friendly Schools

Sixteen schools from around the state were selected for their commitment to addressing student needs and fostering family and community involvement.
“As Superintendent, I am committed to increasing family and community engagement in our schools. Earlier this year, I launched the Family and Community Engagement initiative to work collaboratively with schools, communities and families. Today, I am honored to recognize the efforts of Indiana’s Family Friendly Schools that are working towards the common goal of providing an education of the highest quality to all students,” Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz said.
The 2015-2016 Family Friendly Schools include:
- Brookview Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Center for Inquiry School #27 (Indianapolis)
- Center for Inquiry School #84 (Indianapolis)
- Christ the King Catholic School (Indianapolis)
- Concord East Side Elementary (Elkhart)
- Eastridge Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Grassy Creek Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Hawthorne Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Jonas E Salk Elementary (Merrillville)
- Lakeside Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Liberty Park Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Lincoln Elementary (Huntington)
- Lowell Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Pleasant Run Elementary (Indianapolis)
- Raymond Park Intermediate (Indianapolis)
- Rykers Ridge Elementary (Madison)
Schools interested in applying for the 2016-2017 Family Friendly School status can submit an application by November 6.
