The state is seeking proposals to design and support an online business portal. Governor Mike Pence and Secretary of State Connie Lawson say the site would be a “single point of contact” for making payments, filing and reporting with state agencies.

News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — Governor Mike Pence and Secretary of State Connie Lawson today issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for purposes of designing, implementing, and supporting a “business one stop” (BOS) online portal for the State.

“Easing the regulatory burden on Hoosier businesses is key to making Indiana the state that works,” said Governor Pence. “With the implementation of the Business One Stop portal, the State of Indiana will help to cultivate a more business-friendly environment, increase efficiency and make it easier for businesses to start up, operate, and grow within the Hoosier state. I commend Secretary Lawson for the good work she and her team have done to this point and her dedication to the success of this project.”

The BOS portal is a strategic initiative designed to ease the burden and reduce redundancy for Hoosier businesses when it comes to the information and documentation they must provide to various State agencies. The portal will ultimately serve as businesses' single point of contact for registration, filing, reporting, and making payments across State agencies.

“A robust, streamlined business development tool allowing Hoosier entrepreneurs to launch their dreams faster is the next level of Indiana's commitment to foster the pro-growth, pro-jobs atmosphere we have now,” said Secretary Lawson. “By reducing the burden on small businesses’ licensing process time, this portal has the potential to reduce the cost of doing business with the state and shorten the time from corporate formation to being open for business. I look forward to seeing this project’s potential develop as we take on this exciting endeavor.”

The BOS portal is being implemented pursuant to legislation sponsored by Rep. Suzanne Crouch (R) and Sen. Brandt Hershman (R), among others, in 2011, which is codified at Ind. Code 4-5-10.
