Purdue@WestGate in Daviess County has announced the startups for the 2019 Startup Showcase, which takes place Tuesday at the WestGate Academy. The startups will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a group of investors from throughout the country.

Each startup will have one minute to pitch their idea during the showcase. The audience will include investors from the Angel Capital Association, Queen City Angels, Indianapolis-based Elevate Ventures, and the Evansville Regional Angel Network.

The featured startups include:

  • Heliponix
  • Civic Champs
  • Ambition In Motion
  • Aerotronic
  • STEI
  • Endless Eyewear

The pitch competition will take place following the second annual Angel Investing in Startups Workshop at the academy. The workshop will feature discussions on the fundamentals of angel investing, including the entrepreneurial capital ecosystem, the angel investing process, and how to manage post-funding relationships between investors and entrepreneurs.

The workshop is being led by Steve Baggott, managing director of Cincinnati-based consulting firm Strategic Growth Ventures LLC and member of the Queen City Angels.

"The idea behind the workshop is to provide information, and to bring investors, startup founders and entrepreneurs together to learn the basics that will allow the angel investor-entrepreneur relationship to succeed," Baggott said.
