News Release

West Lafayette, Ind. — Technology developers, designers, marketers and product managers throughout the Greater Lafayette area will have 54 hours to take their innovative business ideas from concept to launch during a November event at Purdue Research Park.

Greater Lafayette Startup Weekend will be Friday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Herman and Heddy Kurz Purdue Technology Center, 1281 Win Hentschel Blvd., West Lafayette. The event costs $30, but Early Bird discounts are available through Thursday (Oct 31). Register at http://greaterlafayette.startupweekend.org/

Attendees will pitch ideas Friday night, and groups will form based on mutual interest in an idea. Teams will spend the rest of the weekend developing the idea, creating prototypes and establishing a business plan. On Sunday, the groups will present to a panel of judges, which will award prizes targeted to help teams build their startups after the event closes.

Around 100 attendees are expected to participate, including residents, students from Purdue University and other institutes of higher learning, and entrepreneurs throughout the state. Local CEOs and startup veterans will provide expertise and share their experiences starting a technology-based business.
