Startup Competition to Visit Maker13
A national startup competition that made a stop in Indianapolis last year will Friday host an event in Louisville. Rise of the Rest, led by AOL co-founder Steve Case, will first pay a visit to the Maker13 space in Jeffersonville. The makerspace community workshop says three of the eight startups competing for $100,000 in seed funding used Maker13 to work on their prototyping.
The Maker13 members in the competition include Inscope Medical Solutions, MailHaven and Toggle Health. Inscope Medical last year won the Venture Club of Indiana’s Innovation Showcase Pitch Competition and finished second in the BioCrossroads New Venture Competition.
"We are thrilled to host Rise of the Rest as a stop along their tour," says John Riley, chief executive officer of Maker13. "And even more excited that 3 of our members are featured in the Rise of the Rest pitch competition. Maker13 is proud to help facilitate success for companies and are thrilled to have these groups recognized for their innovation."
The Rise of the Rest event in Louisville will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Speed Art Museum. You can learn more about the event and the startup finalists by clicking here.
