Startup Adds Curbside Pickup to Library App

Indianapolis-based ConverSight.ai is releasing new contactless features to its library app. The company says Libro, which integrates public and university library systems, now allows patrons to select materials remotely from their mobile device and schedule curbside pick up at their local library.

ConverSight.ai, an artificial intelligence and analytics platform, says the new features also provide a convenient method for library staff to complete deliveries.

“In these uncertain times that have brought on unplanned closures, program cancellations and challenges affecting ways libraries traditionally serve patrons, we saw a need in the library community for a solution that works with the new normal” said ConverSight.ai Chief Executive Officer, Ganesh Gandhieswaran. “The process is very similar to ordering groceries or carry-out from a local restaurant as it allows patrons to maintain access to library resources while adhering to social distancing protocols.”

The company says LIBRO allows users to search their local library for books and articles, reserve the materials and select a time for pick-up. From there, the library receives an order notification that allows the order to be tracked from collection to delivery outside of the library.

According to the company, patrons can also inquire about library hours, policies, locations and other information that will be updated and released over time. The integration allows library staff to monitor the queue and includes features that analyze patron satisfaction.
