Start Fort Wayne Executive Director Rhonda Ladig is leaving her position at the end of the year. She was selected for the role in May 2017, and says the transition comes as the organization shifts its focus.

Ladig is the first executive director for Start Fort Wayne. The nonprofit, which was founded to help entrepreneurs grow in northeast Indiana, says it is looking to move from general business creation to "technology and growth-oriented companies that interact with northeast Indiana’s core industries."

"We’ve spent the last 18 months developing and refining Start Fort Wayne," Ladig said in a news release. "Through extensive engagement on the needs of technology entrepreneurship throughout the region, we’ve developed a comprehensive strategy to move forward and deliver tailored services to our region’s needs. To best execute this strategy Start Fort Wayne seeks a transition in leadership to an individual with technology and growth-specific experience and prowess."

Dave Sanders, founder of Start Fort Wayne and president of the organization’s board of directors, said the board had set ambitious goals for Ladig to refine the mission and stabilize the organization in its infancy and she exceeded expectations.

Start Fort Wayne says it is looking for a tech visionary to succeed Ladig and lead the organization into its next chapter as it continues to build up talent, capacity, and infrastructure for high-tech, high-growth companies in the region. Sanders will serve as interim director until a permanent successor is found.
