More than 10,000 athletes and visitors are expected to gather in Fort Wayne this weekend for the Indiana Sports Festival. Sport Wayne Inc. says about 150 sports organizations and businesses from all over the Midwest will participate in the interactive sports expo.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The 2015 Indiana Sports Festival, brought to you by Sport Wayne Inc., is an interactive sports expo for sports enthusiast of all ages and abilities. Held in the main expo hall of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, it will showcase leading sports businesses and organizations displaying the latest trends and opportunities in the athletics industry.

This interactive sports expo is open to the public and will feature the chance to try out over 50 different sports, making it one of the most comprehensive and diverse sports expos in the country. Local clubs and national sports organizations will provide participants with hands-on sports exhibits, free skills clinics, exciting demonstrations, statewide competitions, educational sessions and more.

Indiana Sports Festival director Corey Ford said this expo is a great opportunity for all potential athletes to explore the endless variety of traditional and niche sports programs they can get involved in.

“We want the public to attend and try or learn about as many different sports as possible, especially the unique sports that they probably never heard of before the festival.” Ford said.

Prizes and Awards will be given to top finishers in the Indiana Sports Festival Home Run Derby, 3 Point Shootout, Pro-style Combine, 5k Run, Weightlifting Challenge, and dozens of other competitions. No registration or sign-up is required for these events. You may try these along with many more sports activities at any point throughout the weekend.

Hours are Saturday March 21st 9am-7pm and Sunday March 22nd 10am-6pm. To learn more about the Indiana Sports Festival visit www.indianasportsfestival.com. Tickets to the expo are $10 for adults, $6 for students, military, and seniors and can be purchased at the Coliseum ticket office or Ticketmaster.com.

Sport Wayne Inc. is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes youth, recreational, and adaptive sports programs by providing unique engagement platforms and support services that help connect athletes to new opportunities.
